Julie Anderson is one of KC's best attorneys when it come to representing landlords. She has a great presentation about evictions and process, new regulations and bankruptcies. Check out more about Julie and what she will be presenting below:

Julie Anderson graduated from William Jewell College, magna cum laude, in 2000 and the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School in 2004. She is admitted to practice law in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, the United States Eastern and Western District Courts of Missouri, the United States District Court of Kansas, and the United States Bankruptcy Courts in Kansas and Missouri. Anderson is a former judicial law clerk and served as an assistant to United States Senator Chuck Hagel in Washington D.C. She was also a summer associate to Kenneth Feinberg, the Special Master of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund in New York, NY. In 2010, she was chosen as one of Missouri’s "Up and Coming" young attorneys. In 2013 – 2021 she was named a Thompson Reuters “Super Lawyer” and in 2015 and 2016 as one of Kansas City Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar.” Anderson is the former mayoral appointed Chairwoman on the Land Bank of Kansas City, Missouri and the current Executive Director of Mid-America Crime Free, Inc., an organization collaborating with regional police departments to encourage and enforce crime free housing. Her previous activities in the Bar include being a member of the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Section of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), and as a member of both the Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City and the Creditor Rights Asset Protection organization. She is a sustainer in the Junior League of Kansas City, a former board member of the Westport Regional Business League and has served in other leadership roles in various community organizations. Anderson is presently the managing partner at The Law Offices of Anderson & Associates, a WBE full-service law firm concentrating its practice in Missouri and Kansas landlord tenant law, debt collection, foreclosure and creditor-related litigation.

  • Overview:  While ramping up the availability of coronavirus vaccinations and addressing the fiscal crisis facing many Americans today, President Biden has placed as one of his top priorities to increase affordability of housing and address housing discrimination.  To put it lightly, evictions have become one of the hottest topics of the year as real estate investors and landlords become increasingly angry after operating under nearly 2 years of eviction and foreclosure moratoriums.   Julie Anderson will be providing you with a basic review of eviction law, how COVID-19 has impacted the real estate industry and a brief overview of some of the hottest topics in the industry including the right to counsel movement, the right to comfort animals, the criminal as a protected class, increasing protections for victims of domestic violence and bankruptcy.  

Lastly, we'll get a visit from the one and only Ed Jaskinia. He is the president of TALK, The Associated Landlords of Kansas. He will be updating us on what happened during the most recent legislative session in Topeka.
